Spicy Ginger Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chicken meat
  • ¼ cup minced green onion
  • 1 tablespoon tamari
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon MSG
  • 1 tablespoon peeled and finely minced fresh ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • Chili hoisin sauce (see instructions)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine all ingredients except the chili hoisin sauce and sesame seeds. Making sure that the chicken stays very cold, mix the ingredients until well-combined and slightly elastic.
  3. Form 16 meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Place the baking sheet in oven and bake for about 18 minutes or until the meatballs have an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Remove the meatballs from the baking sheet and place them in a bowl. Pour the chili hoisin sauce over the meatballs, stir to coat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.

Chili Hoisin Sauce

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons hot chili oil
  • ¼ teaspoon rice wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients.
